Vicci Martinez to Return to “The Voice”

Everyone’s favorite Tacoma star, Vicci Martinez, has been building the suspense on social media for almost a week now. The singer’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook have been filled with hints and whispers about a big secret. On Monday the wait was finally over. Tacoma’s hometown girl will be headed back to The Voice at 8pm on Tuesday, May 5 to perform her new single “Bad News Breaker.”

The show, which has recently featured a few returns and reunions from coaches and singers alike, will feature Martinez alongside Craig Wayne Boyd, Avery Wilson and one other surprise guest on the live results show this week. The guests represent some of the early seasons of The Voice, as Martinez and Boyd are both first season veterans.

A Tacoma native, Martinez came in third place on season one of The Voice. Known for her free spirit and soulful sound, the singer has endured the ups and downs of the music industry since her time on the show. Martinez has been working hard on her music, putting out new songs, music videos, and updates about her upcoming album. Most recently, the local artist played a charity performance at the Rialto Theater in Tacoma to unveil her new record. Read our story on Martinez here.

Her return to The Voice comes at a perfect time, as Martinez celebrates the debut of her new album this week. Her album, titled I am Vicci Martinez is influenced by her Tacoma roots. She’s also been making the album with three other Tacoma musicians. Together they go by the name Enter-Exit-Stay.

The fans aren’t the only ones excited for Martinez’s performance. On her Facebook page, Martinez stated, “I can’t find the proper words to tell you how excites I am, excited to be performing a song I am so proud of, excited to be performing a song Enter-Exit-Stay and I created ourselves, released ourselves, and completely our own. The Voice is such a huge part of my career and so many of my happy memories. I can’t wait to be back on that big, beautiful stage.”
