Cooks Tavern in Tacoma’s Proctor District kicks curbside take-out up a notch with its aptly named “Cabin Fever Cocktails for Two,” on-the-rocks containers filled with libations like tangy mai tais or sweet and salty margaritas.
You also can celebrate picnic season with a heaping serving of Honey-Spanked Fried Chicken — half a chicken served with creamy mashed potatoes, butter-braised carrots, gravy, and (of course) a biscuit.
Chef Anthony Hubbard explains how his staff has dealt with recent changes in the restaurant’s business model. “Our amazing ‘Cooks Crew’ was able to quickly transition to curbside takeout,” he said. “Our role as a neighborhood restaurant is to provide delicious, scratch-made food to our customers. We are getting back to our roots, exploring a variety of cultures through cuisine, including our exciting new BBQ and Hawaiian menus. We are so happy to continue feeding the community!”
