Slideshow: Stephanie Anne Johnson at UPS

Stephanie Anne Johnson, a Stadium High School graduate and native Tacoman, gained fame this past season when she appeared on NBC’s “The Voice.”

The signer continues to bring her powerhouse vocals and larger than life stage presence to venues around the area. She will be performing on Wednesday, February 12 at the University of Puget Sound in the Wheelock Rotunda, which is part of the student center. The performance is free of charge and is part of the celebration of Black History Month on campus.

She isn’t the first talent from Tacoma to make it to the big leagues—Vicci Martinez also was on the show in 2011, but she definitely made her mark and was praised by the judges. CeeLo Green was amazed by her stage presence and Christina Aguilera told the singer, “You can do it all.”
