South Sound magazine designer Linda Sok spends her days creating magazines. She blows us away with her creativity and designs on the job, but what she did this weekend surprised us and her.

The plant animals outside of Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Tacoma General Hospital needed haircuts. Recently Sok joined the volunteer grounds keeping crew at MultiCare and met the challenge. Within about an hour, the bear she trimmed looked awesome.

“It was so fun. I work here creatively, but I’m indoors. Being outside is peaceful and relaxing and a great way to spend a Sunday,” she said. Even more rewarding was when the kids walked by and “petted” the bear. “I felt like Edward Scissorhands.”

MultiCare is always looking for volunteers.
