Rock Musical RENT Stopping in Tacoma for Two-Night Performance

RENT, the rock musical that swept Broadway, entered most people’s lexicons once it became a film in 2005.

It offers a gritty, love- and pain-streaked window into the lives of seven artists struggling to make it in New York City while battling AIDs, addiction, and rent payments.

If the film adaptation struck your heart, then seeing it on a live stage is a must. The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning show is returning to the stage for a 20th anniversary touring production, bringing with it messages of fearlessness and friendship.

Included in the casting is Washington local Coleman Cummings, who attended Pacific Lutheran University his freshman year and was a member of its male a cappella group, PLUtonic. Cummings is playing lead Roger Davis.

The show is coming to Tacoma at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24-25 at the Pantages Theater. Tickets are on sale now with prices ranging from $5-$129 for seats.
