Rhein Haus Hosts Final Summer Hog & Grog

When was the last time you ate a whole roasted pig with a pint of beer in your hand and great company by your side? Rhein Haus in Tacoma is hosting their final summer Hog & Grog night, featuring, you guessed it, pulled pork from a whole roasted pig with house-made BBQ sauce and pretzel bun, beer-battered pickle chips, bacon-braised collard greens, and cheesy grits.

For $16 a person, bring your friends and family and chow down. The event runs 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29 and includes a pint of Seattle-based Reuben’s Brews beer.

Each low-key Hog & Grog offered the same hearty fair but showcased a different local brewery. The three previous events have been successful, and it’s likely Rhein Haus will continue hosting community affairs, especially in the summer months.

The Stadium District Bavarian-style beer hall opened in February and specializes in house-made brats, fresh pretzels and a selection of German and Austrian lagers.
