This week’s Pet of the Week is Verne, an energetic, affectionate pittie mix who is about 2 years old. He’s a complete sweetheart just looking for a best friend and a forever home.
Verne loves to play and romp around in the yard. He adores stuffed animals and playing fetch with a ball, although he hasn’t quite learned to bring it back yet. And when he’s not running in the yard, he likes to go for walks and smell all the new smells.
Verne still acts like a fun, rambunctious puppy and is learning his manners, but he is a very smart boy who learns quickly. Once all of his silly playful energy is out, he loves to cuddle up by your side and get all of your pets and attention.
Verne is currently spending time in foster care where he is getting lots of love and attention. His foster home reports that Verne is house trained and enjoys snuggling up on the couch with his people. Verne needs to be the only pet in the home and needs a home without kids under 16. Because Verne is currently spending time in foster care, meet and greets are by appointment only.
If you are interested in learning more, please email Katherine at firstname.lastname@example.org to request an adoption application.
He is available for adoption at the Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale.
Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter that rescues and rehomes more than 6,000 pets every year. The Silverdale-based organization has a “lives saved” rate of over 95 percent, and never euthanizes an animal due to lack of space. In addition to caring for and adopting animals, Kitsap Human Society also provides spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County and Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to surrounding municipalities.
