Meet this week’s Pet of the Week, Lacy!
Lacy is a beautiful Pit Bull/Sharpei mix who is around 2 years old. She loves to give kisses and say hello to everyone she meets! The quickest way to Lacy’s heart is through lots of butt scratches, cookies, and giving her squeaky toys.
She loves people and being the center of all the attention — so much so that she will need to be the only pet in the home. She is super sweet and a big love bug. Lacy’s adopters will need to understand that she will not be a dog-park kind of gal, and that she prefers human friends to four-legged friends. Lacy has the personality of a puppy in a big-dog package and will need a savvy adopter to help her learn and manage her manners.
Due to her high energy and size, she will need a home with no kiddos under 16. Lacy also will need a fenced in yard (no apartments please) to run around in and get all her zoomies out. She is a super smart girl and just needs the right person to show her the ropes and give her the time and consistency she needs. Because she has not lived inside much prior to coming into our shelter, she will need a patient dedicated adopter to work with her and show her the amazing luxuries of being an inside dog.
If you are passionate about giving pit bulls a better reputation and looking for a good ‘project’ dog to love and care for, Lacy is the perfect girl for you! Come on down to meet this sweetheart today!
Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter that rescues and rehomes more than 6,000 pets every year. The Silverdale-based organization has a “lives saved” rate of over 95 percent, and never euthanizes an animal due to lack of space. In addition to caring for and adopting animals, Kitsap Human Society also provides spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County and Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to surrounding municipalities.
