Pet of the Month: Tonto

Pet of the MonthMeet Tonto!

Tonto is a handsome, 1-year-old Whippet mix with a fun and playful personality. This cutie looks like an adorable baby seal when he looks up at you with his big puppy dog eyes and wiggly, little butt. He is an energetic and active boy that would love to accompany you on long walks, runs, and hikes.

Not only is this boy the best adventure buddy, he is also super smart and would love to bond with his adopters over positive reinforcement training. This sweet boy loves his treats and would find training so much fun. Tonto can be a bouncy pup that will need a proper exercise plan to keep him happy and healthy. It will be important for him to have access to chew toys and food puzzles so he has appropriate outlets to keep him occupied in the home.

Tonto would do best with kids over the age of 10, as he could accidentally knock small kids over with his bouncy and rough-and-tumble play style. He will need a home (no apartments please) with no cats or chickens to chase. Tonto is so excited to find his new forever home and cannot wait to play with everyone.

Come meet him today. To learn more about him, visit his adoption page, and come on down to the shelter to give this sweet boy the home of his dreams!

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter that rescues and rehomes more than 6,000 pets every year. The Silverdale-based organization has a “lives saved” rate of over 95 percent, and never euthanizes an animal due to lack of space. In addition to caring for and adopting animals, Kitsap Human Society also provides spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County and Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to surrounding municipalities.
