Peace Vans Goes Green, Expands Fleet

Seattle-based Peace Vans has announced that the nation’s first all-electric vintage Volkswagen Bus, a 1977-era vehicle named Frieda, is now available to rent for in-city, multi-day adventures.

An increased number of 2019 Modern Mercedes Metris custom pop-up camper vans also are available, along with the classic vintage Volkswagen Vanagons for which the company and #Vanlife movement has become known.

“Each season, we learn more about what will create the most authentic, yet simple, road trip adventure for our customers, which allows us to customize our offerings and experiences,” explained Peace Vans Rentals owner Harley Sitner, in a prepared statement.

“This year it’s all about increasing our Mercedes Metris, coined ‘modern’ options, maintaining our vintage Volkswagen Vanagons and — possibly our most innovative offering to date — (making) the nation’s first all-electric Volkswagen Bus available to rent. We are excited about the expanded modern fleet as it opens up a wider range of travel options.”

In addition to the new collection of rental options, Peace Vans is extending road trip possibilities with a new partnership allowing for one-way, West Coast adventures with drop-off options in South Los Angeles at VWSurfari. The new partnership marks Peace Vans’ fourth California drop-off location. The company has also upgraded and expanded itineraries for Peace Vans’ most popular routes, including the Olympic Peninsula, the Oregon Coast, and San Juan Islands.
