OK. If National Wear Red Day was last Friday it would have been a big problem! But it is Friday, Feb. 7 well after our Super Bowl win! Wear red to support the American Heart Association. Make sure to take a photo of yourself and your co-workers, friends and family wearing red and post in on social media with #GoRed. The South Sound Twitter handle for our local organization is @AHApugetsound. They will be collecting photos to post on their 2014 Heart and Stroke Walk website during Heart Month. Make sure to take a photo near your workplace sign to help identify your group.
Also head to the Tacoma Mall Saturday, Feb. 8 from 11am to 4 pm and see a fashion show put on by Macy’s, a healthy cooking demonstration and get lots of health and fashion tips during the Puget Sound Women’s show Goes Red event.
The American Heart Association is attempting to save the lives of women through education. Did you know 80 percent of heart attacks and strokes can be prevented, treated and avoided? The group estimates that 627,000 women’s lives have been saved thanks to the Go Red for Women movement that began 10 years ago. They hope you will show your red in support of their efforts!
