Three area children’s museums were awarded a $225,000 grant from The Boeing Company, which will be used to support existing its Early Learning Collaborative programs and provide further access for families in need.
The Early Learning Collaborative program at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, KidsQuest Children’s Museum in Bellevue, and Everett-based Imagine Children’s Museum aims to refine the skills needed to be successful in school. With the grant, each museum in the collaborative will be evaluating how their programs can better serve local families, especially when it comes to children’s prekindergarten math skills. KidsQuest is expanding its math opportunities, and its early learning partnerships with organizations that help families in crisis. The Tacoma-based museum is leveraging its Play to Learn program, and Imagine Children’s Museum is expanding early learning, math, and science programs throughout Snohomish County.
The Boeing Company grants support organizations offering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. KidsQuest serves roughly 208,000 people annually and focuses on interactive learning with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
