Renton Technical College is cooking up a tasty fundraiser with major star power on Jan. 28 to support the school’s culinary program. New York chef Angie Mar, owner and chef at the famed The Beatrice Inn in Manhattan, will be joined by sommelier and radio show host Christopher Chan.
The first event at 5 p.m. is the Butcher + Beast Bash, where people can meet Mar and celebrate her new cookbook release. Students will do cooking demonstrations, and appetizers paired with wine will be served. Tickets include a copy of Mar’s book, Butcher + Beast: Mastering the Art of Meat. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased here.
The 7 p.m. Celebrity Chef Dinner is sold out, but you can be placed on a waiting list if there are cancellations by calling 425.235.2415. Tickets for the reception and dinner are $300 and $500.
Mar’s career has been showcased in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, People Magazine, and Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs for 2017.
“It’s an honor for me to be in Seattle for this event. The foundation for any good cook is mentorship, a strong work ethic, and integrity — it’s always a privilege to be able to pay it forward,” said Mar.
425 is a proud media sponsor of this event.
