This weekend marks the 10-year anniversary of the historic cleanup effort on the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma. It’s also the 24th annual Tacoma Maritime Fest this weekend (705 Dock Street) and it will be quite the nautical celebration!
There will be fun all weekend long starting at 10 a.m., June 16. From arts and entertainment booths, food, free boat tours and more, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
Admission to the Foss Waterway Museum is free this weekend. Visit and learn more about the maritime history of Tacoma and enjoy hands-on activities, too.
On Sunday June 17, festivities will begin with a photo opportunity at 11 a.m. during the Critical Mass Paddle & Row, starting at Waterway Park (2104 E. D. Street). It will end at the Tacoma Maritime Festival. People on kayaks, Stand Up Paddle boards, canoes and more will make their way down the waterway. The City of Tacoma will lead a presentation on the main stage at noon.
Learn more here and also see where you can park and shuttle for free back and forth from the event.
