Holiday Fun at the Pierce County Library

Looking for free family fun this holiday season? The Pierce County Library System has a plenty of activities on the docket. You’ll find arts, crafts, carols, and more at libraries branches through the month of December. Here are a few of the highlights:

From Dec. 4-21, libraries across Pierce County will host gingerbread house decorating events. Supplies will be provided, so kiddos can deck the halls of their gingerbread masterpieces with peppermint, gumdrops, and more. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Some events require registration; check the Pierce County Library calendar for a full schedule.

A holiday-themed marionette show will run at many Pierce County library locations Dec. 14, 16, 21, and 23. The puppetry act is appropriate for kids of all ages. Several libraries will also host one-time performances by community groups. The Bethel School District’s Vivace! Choral Program will perform at the Graham Pierce County Library on Dec. 5th, while The Traveling Lantern Theatre Company will perform The Story of Ebenezer Scrooge for Eatonville audiences on Tuesday, Dec. 10th.

More arts and crafts opportunities will be available throughout the season. On Dec. 10th, Eatonville will host an all-ages ornament-making party. Little ones interested in stationary and circuitry can make their very own light-up holiday card at the South Hill Pierce County Library on Dec. 12th. On Dec 14. in Lakewood, kiddos can create a piñata in honor of the Latin Christmas tradition Las Posadas.
