Showing Love at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital

People held a socially distanced — yet highly spirited — celebratory parade in April outside of Puyallup’s MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital to show their appreciation and support for all of the brave health care heroes on the frontlines. Even local fire trucks made an appearance! Share more inspiration you see in the South Sound through MultiCare’s Hope Grows Here community project. Learn more here. Also use #hopegrowshere to share on social media, and follow the community project on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

Custom T-Shirts Benefit Charities

Through the #UnitedToday T-shirt charity fundraiser initiative, companies were able to raise more than $28,000 and counting. Learn how to get a shirt made here.

PLU Grads Phones Rang

With the postponement of PLU’s 2020 graduation commencement ceremony, more than 160 staff and faculty called (yep, using a phone and talking into it) some 841 student graduates with messages not only of congratulations, but of hope and encouragement. The ceremony, originally scheduled for last Saturday, May 23, has been put on hold until the fall. Instead, staff members initiated the surprise phone calls as a way to connect with 2020 graduates on a job well done! More here.

DIY Boozy Ice Pops

Sometimes grown-ups also need a sweet treat — and an ice pop with a little extra something isn’t a bad idea. You can simply leave out the alcohol for a cool treat for the whole family! Get the recipes here.
