Fashion is ART at the Tacoma Art Museum

If you missed Tacoma Art Museum’s Fashion is ART fashion show at the end of March, don’t worry: You can check out some of the stunning pieces that were showcased here. The purpose of the event, which featured seven designers from across the Pacific Northwest, was to portray fashion pieces in interesting and unexpected ways to show that fashion is art and art is fashion. It’s one of a handful of local fashion shows produced by Fashion District NW.

The many looks that hit the runway were accompanied by an equally wide variety of music, which set the mood for each model as she came onto the platform. Once off the runway, models headed into the studio space at TAM to be painted by local artists. The pieces they created were then auctioned off to participants to help support the hard work of those involved in the show.

Check out some of the amazing looks from the evening below! If you’re interested in catching the next fashion show put on by Fashion District NW, don’t miss the 2019 Couture & Cars Fashion Show at Lemay-America’s Car Museum in July.
