Fall Fun

Make sure to check the status of your favorite South Sound pumpkin patches so you can plan accordingly. Here are some fall activities we are looking forward to:

Lattin’s Country Cider Mill and Farm,

Olympia: Fresh apple fritters, apple ciders galore, and a farm full of cute animals. lattinscider.com

Fall Festival at Middleton Six Sons Farms,

Sept. 26–Nov. 1, Pasco: At press time, this Eastern Washington farm was expected to host a fall festival, corn maze, and pumpkin patch. middletonsfallfestival.com

Wright Park,

Tacoma: One of the prettiest places to stroll and enjoy the leaves changing colors during fall.

Roast Those Pumpkin Seeds

When you carve your pumpkin, don’t toss the seeds; roast them. There are several recipes online. An easy way to a healthy snack is to clean the seeds, toss them with some melted butter or olive oil, spread on a cookie sheet in a single layer, and roast for about 45 minutes at 300 degrees. TIP: Salt or use a season of choice before roasting, so the flavors stick.
