Explore the Shore Beach Walk

Have you ever wanted to connect with that inner scientist inside you? Bring a child or remember what it felt like to be one at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium Explore the Shore free event happening at 9am this coming Wednesday, August 29th at Owen Beach.

Everyone age 5 and up will have the opportunity to explore the low tide beach walk and identify tide pool animals with the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium naturalists. The experts will show you how to record their presence and location—the data that is needed for the scientific NatureMapping database. This is a great  educational event to participate in and take the kids to. Whether you are 5 or 65, you will probably learn something new about the diversity of wildlife in our area and how to conserve it.

This is the last Explore the Shore Beach Walk that is being offered this summer. Wear sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and weather appropriate clothing. Contact Amy Hale at 253.404.3665 or amy.hale@pdza.org for more information.
