Did You Order a Fire Engine with Your Domino’s Pizza?

In support of National Fire Prevention Week Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, Graham Fire & Rescue is joining forces with the local Domino’s Pizza to promote this year’s theme of “Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen!”

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), cooking is the number one cause of home fires and home fire injuries.

To help raise fire safety awareness, customers who order a pizza between 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Thursday, Oct. 8 from the Graham Domino’s location might get more than a pizza delivered to their home. They may also get a surprise visit from a fire engine.

In addition, if home smoke alarms are in working order, customers will be awarded a free pizza voucher from Domino’s. If alarms are inoperative, Graham firefighters will either replace them or supply new batteries. It’s a win-win for fire safety.

“In a typical home fire, you may have as little as two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out. These steps can make all of the difference and we hope to raise awareness about them through our partnership with Domino’s,” Community Outreach Officer Brianna Keeley said in a recent press release.

Place orders at the Graham Domino’s location for a chance to have your food delivered by a fire engine.
