Remember when arcades were in their heyday? There was nothing better than staring at pixelated screens, pockets bulging with quarters, while spending hours collecting ribbons of tickets for the ultimate prize. While screen resolution has improved and quarters have given way to cards, some arcades are alive and well, like the popular Dave & Buster’s adult arcade.
Recently, Washington state’s first Dave & Buster’s location opened in Auburn at The Outlet Collection Seattle. The restaurant and entertainment hub is the chain’s 104th location, boasting more than 44,000-square-feet of arcade gaming and dining space, and bringing more than 275 new jobs to Auburn.
“We’ve had our eyes on the Seattle area for a while now, and the South Sound is an ideal place for Dave & Buster’s first location in the Evergreen State,” Dave & Buster’s Auburn general manager James Hartung said in a statement. “We look forward to introducing the region to what we’re all about — an exciting environment to eat, drink, play, and watch sports.”
After playing Dave & Buster’s canon of more than 190 of classic and contemporary arcade games, those hard-earned tickets can be redeemed for a variety of prizes, including Apple products, Xbox games, sports memorabilia, clothing, and more.
Once guests have worked up an appetite, they can enjoy the venue’s dynamic menu with items like the Buffalo wing burger, the bbbacon burger (with three types of bacon), the hawg-a-saurus loaded cheese fries, ancho Caesar lettuce wraps, carnivore pizzadilla, and dynamite fried shrimp.
Sports fans will enjoy the D&B Sports Bar where they can catch all of Washington’s college and professional teams with screens at every angle to mimic stadium seating while enjoying a draft beer or one of the venue’s signature cocktails. There are adult snow cones, CoronaRitas, tiki drinks, a strawberry watermelon margarita made with strawberry flavored ice cubes, and Glow Kones.
Dave & Buster’s is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, as well as Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. For more information, visit Dave & Buster’s online.
