LeMay — America’s Car Museum in Tacoma was transformed into the swankiest place in the South Sound this past Saturday night, July 21. Attendees dressed to the nines to witness the second annual Couture & Cars Fashion Show, produced by Fashion District NW.
The event highlighted Northwest-specific clothing and accessory designers and merged fashion lovers and car enthusiasts into one grand and unique experience.
David M. Bailey, owner of Fashion District NW and executive producer for the Couture & Cars Fashion Show, said he was proud of how the event came together.
“I was extremely pleased with the turnout of the this year’s Couture & Cars Fashion Show. This show is getting bigger and better each year,” he said. “I was blown away with the amazing collections the designers put on the runway. They definitely poured their hearts and souls into their collections.”
Models strutted alongside classic and modern cars throughout the evening. From full latex pant suits to elegant and unique dresses, the event showcased the work of six regional designers: Chany Venturini, Dawnamatrix, Designs by Thor, Heidi Fish Swimwear, Lisa Marie Couture, and Sovannary En Couture. Accessory designers Ann X Ann X Design, Lunaversoul, and Namiko Abloom were also on display.
“I will say I was impressed with how the designers went a little more avant-garde with their collections this year, which I think makes it more fun for the audience,” Bailey added.
Organizers added 100 more tickets than last year, and were just ten people away from selling out the 500-seat venue. At the event, the date of next year’s show was released — July 20, 2018 — and tickets will be on sale soon.
