OK; who else is guilty of taking a Saturday trip up to Pike Place and immediately beelining to Beecher’s Handmade Cheese for a bowl of mac & cheese, suddenly blind to all other experiences the market has to offer?
It’s nothing to be ashamed of — Beecher’s is the best of the best when it comes to local cheesy delights. If you’re a big fan like we are, you’re going to want to clear your schedule on Feb. 6: the company will be making a pit stop on Tacoma for its first-ever PNW tour.
From 5 to 7 p.m. at Alma Mater, cheese-lovers from across the South Sound can come to sample Beecher’s cheeseburgers and mac & cheese creations, all prepared by local chefs. Sip on some beer or wine while sampling all of the options, then vote on your favorites at the end.
General admission tickets — which include tastes of all the goodies and two drinks tickets — are on sale for $45. For true Beecher’s fans, a VIP option is available for $75 and earns you early entry, an open bar, and a custom gift bag on top of the tasting extravaganza.
Tacoma is the first stop on the tour, followed by Portland, Issaquah, and Seattle. Get updates at beechersforall.com
