A Touch of Neon

Tacoma is home to some truly incredible artists, and June 11 is the night to celebrate them. Spaceworks Tacoma, which finds space for local artists to present their work, is throwing its first fundraiser – and things are bound to get colorful.

At the NEON Art Party, Spaceworks plans to light up the night at the Carpenters Building downtown (1322 Fawcett St.). The party will be a colorful spectacle of art, music, and dance, showcasing the work of Spaceworks’ talented artists and entrepreneurs. The festivities include interactive art installations, live theater, a NEON runway show, and a silent auction.

All proceeds from the event will support Spaceworks’ three art programs. A joint initiative between the City of Tacoma and the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, Spaceworks activates empty storefronts and vacant spaces with the work of Tacoma’s colorful artists. Currently, they have over 30 destinations for you to check out, and with proceeds from the event, they may expand into more spaces.
At the party, you can eat, dance, and drink your way through the night, with cocktails from Hilltop Kitchen and Mad Hat Tea. Beer and wine will also be served by Pacific Brewing and Mosquito Fleet. Hors d’oeuvres are included with ticket purchase. Advanced tickets are $15 for kids, $30 for adults, $50 for couples, and $125 for VIPs.
