We already raved about the Buffalo Melt from Peterson Bros. 1111 in Tacoma, but we’re not the only ones who are mega fans of this I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-meat sandwich. PETA, the pro-animal organization, released a list of vegan “chicken” sandwiches to get your hands on, and the Buffalo Melt made its list. It’s made with a buffalo soy curls “chicken” patty, and topped with dairy-free cheese, tomato, lettuce, and vegan ranch.
“Today’s public is hungry for delicious vegan fare like Peterson Bros. 1111’s tangy and succulent Buffalo Melt,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “All the winners on PETA’s list soar high above old, meaty chicken sandwiches, which are basic, boring, and cruel to birds.”
Location-wise, the second-closest sandwich to make the list is the Fancy Chikn sandwich from Homegrown Smoker in Portland. Other cities on the list included Nashville, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
