Gig Harbor-based 7 Seas Brewing opened its new tap room on the Tacoma side of the bridge on Aug. 10.
The new location opened its doors at 11 a.m. and the beer started flowing. There’s also a new restaurant, 3uilt, inside the taproom. The new restaurant, pronounced “built,” will serve oysters and other fare.
The new downtown 7 Seas location is in the historic Heidelberg Brewery building, which closed in 1979. 7 Seas bought the building from Chihuly Studios, which was storing artwork there.
The 80,000-square-foot space houses both a tap room and market, as well as a barrel-aging cellar and a 60-barrel brewhouse. The design is similar to the original location in Gig Harbor.
