Rock Out at KNKX’s Block Party

To celebrate the grand opening of its Tacoma studio, KNKX is throwing a block party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday on Broadway between 9th and 11th Streets. This free event will include a beer garden, food trucks, studio tours, andlive jazz from the Kareem Kandi Band, the Bill Ramsey Quartet, and others. Arrive at 10 a.m. for a live taping of KNKX’s Sound Effect program.

Celebrate the Kickoff of Symphony Season with Wine and Hors D’oeuvres

Beginning at 5 p.m. this Saturday, the Auburn Symphony Orchestra is hosting a Season Kickoff Party at Geaux Brewing, during which its new concertmaster, Emilie Choi, will be introduced. Creole and American-style pub food and Geaux’s craft beers will be available alongside samples of six different Washington wines. Ticketing information can be found online.

Come See Hot Air Balloons Glow Up

This Saturday, Seattle Ballooning and the Enumclaw Expo Center present a choreographed light show displayed over tethered hot air balloons. Come early to learn about the balloons, or to enjoy the food trucks, beer garden, and musical actshappening before the performance. The light show begins at dusk, but crowds are welcome to arrive beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.
