3 to See: Week of July 25

Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games

Dig out your tartan, it’s time again for the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games. Now going into its 73rd year, this weekend-long event gives visitors the chance to step into the highlands. The games run from July 26 to the 28, starting with piping competitions and Scottish country dancing on Friday. The rest of the weekend is packed with activities like old country games, food tastings, a heritage tent, and, of course, even more music and dancing. Prices vary per day. Check online for pricing and to purchase tickets.

Drive-In Movies at America’s Car Museum

Who misses the days when drive-in movies were king? Arrive at LeMay – America’s Car Museum by 4:30 p.m. on July 27 to stake your spot for the free 9 p.m. screening of The Goonies. While you wait for the show to begin, grab dinner at the venue’s picnic concessions, go for a walk, or purchase tickets to view the museum’s exhibits. Not free this weekend? The museum is featuring several movies throughout the summer.
