Watson’s Winter Wonderland

Watson’s Greenhouse and Nursery is getting ready for the holidays by transforming its nursery into a wonderful wonderland filled with ornaments, decorations, poinsettias, fresh trees, wreaths, garland, and more. Bring the whole family and partake in the holiday scavenger hunt, or just hang out with Donder and Blitzen — two reindeer who are enjoying a brief vacation before Christmas Eve. Santa will stop by to check on his reindeer friends and take photos Dec. 6 and 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Village 253 Handmade Market & Mingle

Support local charities and handmade vendors by coming out to the 5th Annual Handmade Market & Mingle. The event includes free entry, free food, and free kids crafts. Each vendor donates 10 percent of its proceeds to a chosen charity.There also will be a raffle with proceeds going toward Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m., Dec. 8, at the Union Club Tacoma.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away Comes to TAM

From 5 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 12, the Tacoma Art Museum will be hosting a Star Wars themed night showcasing the original designs of the X-Wing, Y-Wing, TIE Fighter, Death Star, Star Destroyer, Millennium Falcon, and more. Fans also will be able listen to a discussion with Colin Cantwell, the designer who conceived all the iconic spaceships from Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope, and meet him for an autograph after the discussion.
