3 to See: The Patio, Twilight, and Summer Concerts

The Patio Opens

While most restaurants are adapting to outdoor seating, social distancing, and mask-wearing, Alma Mater Tacoma is opening a new restaurant with all those things built in. The Patio is an outdoor restaurant with counter service and socially distanced seating in the Alma Mater patio. The new restaurant is now open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and is the only Alma Mater restaurant open for the time being. Check out the menu here.

Q&A with Stephenie Meyer

If you’re still arguing with your best friends over team Edward versus team Jacob, then you won’t want to miss Stephenie Meyer discussing her latest book in the “Twilight” series, “Midnight Sun.” The Aug. 7 drive-up event at the Skyline Drive-In Theater in Shelton includes a showing of the “Twilight” movie and a Q&A with Meyer on her new book. The $62 ticket to the event also includes signed copies of the book, and while supplies last, a “Twilight” themed mask, so you can show your love of vampires while staying healthy. Learn more here.

Summer Concerts

Every Friday from now until Oct. 2, enjoy concerts at the Uptown Gig Harbor Pavilion as they support local businesses affected by COVID-19. You can stream the concert on Facebook, Twitch, or local radio station KGHP FM, while you enjoy takeout from a favorite local restaurant. The event is organized by the city of Gig Harbor, the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation, and Uptown Gig Harbor. Plan for this Friday’s show, featuring Flock of Beagles, and make the concert part of your weekly routine by checking it out on Facebook.
