3 to See: Thailand Week, Victorian Cooking, and a 5K

Sawasdee Festival: Thailand Week Celebration

From May 30 through June 5, The Asia Pacific Cultural Center presents Sawasdee Festival: Thailand Week Celebration. Experience Thailand from the comfort of your home via Facebook Live during a week that promises to be as entertaining as it is informative. The line-up includes a (virtual) visit to the Wat Buddhangkura Thai Buddhist Temple in Olympia, a Muay Thai demonstration from Master Saohin Srisuk of Srisuk Muay Thai Boxing School in Tacoma, and a clay arts demonstration — among others. Victorian Cooking: Let’s Get Saucy

Do you ever wonder what the meals of yesteryear tasted like? Join the Fort Nisqually Living Museum for Fort from Home: Victorian Cooking, a monthly series that gives audiences a closer look — and bite — at historical recipes. Participants are encouraged to join virtually from their own (and probably much more modern) kitchens. More here.

Thrive Memorial Day 5K Run & Walk

Not even a pandemic can slow down the Lacey Joggernauts. This Memorial weekend, the group has organized the Thrive Memorial Day 5K Run & Walk. Whether you’re attending virtually on your own or joining one of the small groups at Lacey’s Thrive Community Fitness Center, remember it’s up to you to run, jog, or walk through this non-timed, non-competitive event. Because if you’ve shown up, you’ve already won. More here
