3 to See: Shop & Dine, Victorian Cooking, and a Chowder Social

Love Oly Shop & Dine Week

The Olympia Downtown Alliance will highlight the importance of small business shopping Sept. 28 through Oct. 4 during Love Oly Shop & Dine Week. Community members can fill their “passports” with “Love Oly” stickers with every $10 purchase from a participating downtown business. Once an attendee has accrued five stickers, they can redeem it for a “Love Oly” face mask, hat, or bumper sticker, plus a chance to win gift certificates to local businesses. See participating businesses on the Olympia Downtown Alliance web page.

Home Victorian Cooking

Go back to Victorian times this weekend and enjoy the period’s finest meals. A Fort Nisqually volunteer cook will share historical food research and welcome questions during a virtual event Saturday, Sept. 19. Sliding scale donations to the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum start at $10. Find preregistration tickets here.

Chowder Social

A 10-day silent auction benefitting the Foss Waterway Seaport will cap off with a curbside chowder pickup Sept. 20. Supporting the maritime museum during its closure, participants can join in on the auction, chowder social, or both. The meal includes ready-to-eat chowders from three local caterers and sides like caesar salad and a buttered roll. Check out ticket information here.
