3 to See: Hilltop Business Crawl, Bite of Black Businesses, Summer Market

Hilltop Business Crawl

Support your local businesses this Saturday, Aug. 22, and Sunday, Aug. 23, as part of the Hilltop Business Crawl. The Tacoma Housing Authority and the Hilltop Action Coalition have partnered with the Community Market to create this incentive to foster community connections and support businesses that have been affected by COVID-19 and Tacoma Hilltop Link construction. As you peruse Hilltop businesses this weekend, you can collect stamps on the crawl’s passport. At the end of your visit, you can then turn in your passport to win raffle prizes and vote for the People’s Choice Award. Find out more on the Facebook page.

Bite of Black Businesses

After spending some time shopping in Hilltop, head over to Wright Park from 3 to 7 p.m. for the Bite of Black Businesses on Sunday, Aug. 23. This is the second Bite of Black Businesses event presented by New Generation 2.0 and Tacoma Daily Protests. At the first event, there were 100 vendors. For Sunday’s bite, they’re hoping to double that. You can check it out and RSVP on the event’s Facebook page.

Virtual Summer Market

The Traveling Happy Market, a group that brings together local businesses to showcase them at its markets, is presenting a summer market virtually from Thursday, Aug. 20, to Monday, Aug. 31. You can support local vendors through the market’s website during these dates, and specials, discounts, and a giveaway make this experience even more unique. Click here for more information.
