3 to See: Fair Food, Fourth of July, and Puppet Shows

Fair Food To-Go

Do the Puyallup like never before and drive through the Washington State fairgrounds to get your fair food favorites to-go! Every weekend throughout the month of July, vendors will have food of all kinds available for purchase including Earthquake’s Biggest Burgers, Fisher Scones, BBQ, Krusty Pups, elephant ears, cotton candy, funnel cakes, and much more. Fourth of July Celebrations

Large events may be on hold due to COVID-19, but cities across the South Sound are finding ways to celebrate the Fourth of July. Instead of the traditional fireworks show at Cheney Stadium, fans can enjoy a virtual show on July 3 or find a place to safely watch them outside. For those wanting to enjoy a firework show on the Fourth, the Puyallup Fairgrounds have reimagined their annual Fourth of July show into a drive-in celebration. Drive-In Puppet Show

String and Shadow Puppet Theater in Olympia is presenting a Drive-In Puppet Show with new shows available every weekend of July! Performances will be held at the Isthmus Park parking lot in downtown Olympia where audience members are invited to watch from their vehicles while tuning into the audio via their car radio and/or smartphone. Great for kids and adults, the shows will be perfect for the whole family to enjoy! All tickets are by donation (or free) and will be first come first serve, so be sure to arrive early and secure your spot before the show. Friday and Saturday shows will begin at sunset and Sunday shows will begin at 7 p.m. For more info click here.
