3 to See: Candle Making, a Virtual Play, and Applefest

Page to Screen

Tacoma’s Little Theatre’s Page to Screen program will feature Pacific Northwest actors in a virtual, staged reading of The Final Assignment Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The Final Assignment follows a radio station intern posted at a street corner when President John F. Kennedy’s motorcade passes by. Donations support local playwrights and actors. See further details and a YouTube link here.

Wicks and Wine

This Saturday, Oct. 3, Painting with a Twist is putting on a candle-making class in collaboration with the Cascade Candle Company. Local chandler and candlemaker Dana Broadnax encourages participants to learn and experiment with the science and art behind hand pouring soy wax candles. Attendees will create and leave with two regular-sized candles and a wax melt box of tea lights. Reserve tickets on Eventbrite.

Applefest and Pumpkin Patch

Every weekend through the end of the month, the Apple Festival will continue at Lattin’s Country Cider Mill and Farm in Olympia. A day’s worth of activities includes wagon rides and pumpkin-picking, fresh fair-style food, paintball games, farm-animal viewing, and homemade cider and apple fritters. Learn more about this socially distanced fall festival on the farm’s website.
