3 to See: A Film Preview, a History Discussion, and Traditional Flamenco

Thunderbird Nation

This Thursday, filmmaker Eric Lindal is illustrating the history of the Thunderbird — a boat with “a cult-like status among sailors and boat lovers” — in Thunderbird, a film preview and discussion. The evening is presented by Gig Harbor’s own Harbor History Museum, home to the very first iteration of the beloved Thunderbird #1.

Discussing Portraits of a Transgender West

Celebrate Pride month by recalling queer history in Thursday’s panel discussion “Crossing Boundaries: Portraits of a Transgender West.” Join historian and curator Peter Boag — alongside the Washington State Historical Society — in this virtual conversation illuminating the lives of those who paved the way for visibility and acceptance of the trans community.

Flamenco en Vivo

In “Flores de Verano, Flamenco en Vivo,” dancer Savannah Fuentes reflects on a year of isolation and celebrates the reopening of performing arts. Alongside musician Diego Samador, Fuentes brings her interpretation of traditional flamenco dance to Tacoma’s The New Frontier Lounge on Monday, June 14.
