Fashion for a Cause
Tacoma’s woman- and Black-owned Pretty By Pinks Fashion Boutique is working double-time July 17 by hosting the annual The Woman In Color Fashion Show. Proving fashion can be used for good, Pinks also has announced that 100 percent of this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Women’s New Life Program, a Tacoma Rescue Mission opportunity designed for those that have suffered substance use disorders. For more information about the show, find Pinks Fashion Boutique on Instagram and Facebook (@PrettyByPinksFashion).
The Corg-Key to the Heart
Queen Elizabeth II prefers to spend her time flanked by a pack of corgis — and it’s understandable. The breed is beloved for its playful, tenacious, and outgoing temperament. Own a corgi yourself? Just trying to go corgi-watching? This Saturday, join the Corgi Corral, a breed meet-up that promises plenty of room to run around, a selection of local beers, and, of course, lots of good boys and good girls.
With the craziness of reopenings, live music events, and festivals, taking time to reset and relax is key. To reset your social battery, join Tacoma Metroparks and Yoga Wild at the scenic Point Defiance Park for a yoga class in nature. Unwind this Sunday, July 18, by taking a deep breath, stretching your limbs, and taking in what nature has to offer. Learn more about the class here.
