1,500 Hams Gifted at JBLM

Last week, City of Sumner Mayor Bill Pugh and the Association of the U.S. Army passed out 1,500 hams at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The team went around the base giving hams to soldiers and airmen from the 7th infantry division to the 62nd Airlift Wing.

“Everywhere we went, the military staff would thank us, but it’s really they who deserve our thanks,” said Mayor Pugh in an email. “These people are giving up their lives to serve, often in dangerous situations, and they’re thanking us for delivering a ham?”

Pugh’s email also conveyed his gratitude for the citizens of Sumner for always making the holiday season special and encouraged people to give thoughtful gifts from the heart.
