Former chief operating officer for Starbucks and longtime Gig Harbor resident Troy Alstead is opening a new restaurant in Gig Harbor. Table 47 will focus on community and environmental sustainability and is slated to open in Gig Harbor’s new Olympic Town Center development this November.
“From my years of traveling the globe, I have always been struck by the common impact food and mealtime gathering have in connecting people,” said Alstead. “I am excited to create a space for the South Sound community where people can relax, escape their daily routine, and connect through great food and shared meals.”
Alstead currently is working with the restaurant’s recently appointed culinary team to develop a menu that reflects local and responsibly sourced ingredients.
“My ultimate goal is connecting with people and searching for the best ingredients,” said Table 47’s executive chef, Ian Wingate. “I’m excited to be a part of a team and partner with people with the same philosophies. We’re not defining our cuisines. We’re letting our local surroundings, sustainably sourced ingredients, and seasonality influence our menu.”
Wingate said the menu will feature a variety of dishes and flavors, free of artificial ingredients and preservatives.
With seating for more than 200 inside and an additional 100 seats on the restaurant’s outdoor heated patio, Table 47 will be able to accommodate groups large and small.
