After a successful first year, the AVA Seabrook Beach Volleyball Tournament returns from June 16-18.
The tournament will have 20 courts and more than 100 teams. Olympian Stein Metzger will play in the tournament and also host a free clinic on Friday, June 16.
The event is the largest multi-divisional beach volleyball tournament in Washington state, and draws players from around the Northwest and Canada.
“We are proud to be selected as the site for the Second Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament,” said Casey Roloff, founder of Seabrook, said in a news release. “Seabrook’s sandy beaches and small-town community will be the perfect backdrop for a weekend of sun, philanthropy and some amazing volleyball talent. As an environmentally conscious nonprofit that brings communities together, AVA is a wonderful partner that shares Seabrook’s values.”
The Alki Volleyball Association hosts the event. It is open to beginner, junior, amateur, and semi-pro players.
The tournament starts on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The prize pool is $10,000. Late-registration closes at 6 p.m. June 13, except fro co-ed doubles and four-player teams. Day of registration is open to beginner four-player teams and other divisions on Sunday.
