Rachel Young’s Miss Moffett’s Mystical Cupcakes in Olympia is growing in popularity for several reasons – and is doing so without a storefront. Young recently competed on the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars” with her mom; she utilizes social media to promote her budding business and most importantly, people say she makes tasty cupcakes – with ingredients so fresh the cupcakes need to be refrigerated.

The former accountant began baking as a hobby two years ago when she became a stay-at-home mom, and her third child is now on the way. Young recently turned to crowd-sourcing to secure funds toward getting a storefront, but didn’t meet her $10,000 goal.

Still, she is forging forward with that dream. You can find her cupcakes at Paprika Café in Olympia, Picasso Brothers in Centralia and A Muddy Cup in Seattle. Order her cake pops on Etsy (etsy.com/shop/mysticalcupcake) or hire her to bring a mobile cupcake-decorating party to you.
