Looks like chef and restaurateur Gordon Naccarato is opening a new place: Smoke + Cedar, at the new Elk’s Lodge space at Allenmore Golf Course. Here are some details we got from chef this morning about the exciting new project. Stay tuned for more details, and follow Smoke + Cedar on Facebook.
What can diners expect from Smoke + Cedar?
The restaurant is a gorgeous Northwest-inspired lodge over looking the golf course. We will be serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends, and also full catering service, in a beautiful space adjacent to the restaurant complete with a built-in stage and private bar. There is also a wedding pavilion on the site.
Food-wise we will be serving rustic American-fare, affordably-priced with Northwest flair. I chose the name because we are located off Cedar Street, there are cedar trees used in the lodge decor and we are going to be doing a lot of smoked foods like cedar-planked salmon, smoked steelhead on savory buckwheat waffles, smoked tomato ketchup for our fries and even a smoked-olive martini.
Why did you choose the new Elk’s space for this restaurant?
First of all it is a top-notch space gorgeously appointed–I believe they are spending $6 million on the entire facility. And we are using the same interior design team that did Pacific Grill.
The Elks contacted us to see if we were interested. They have no interest running a restaurant and want us to be an attraction to help reinvigorate their membership which will include a 10% savings for members that dine upstairs in the restaurant and they also have an on-site gym and gorgeous locker-rooms, sauna and steam, a barber shop and a private Sports Bar with food and full bar with beer on tap, pool tables and racquetball courts.
What is your current time frame for opening?
We are hoping to be open in the early part of 2014. Maybe January if we get lucky with no delays.
