The 30th annual Tacoma Home & Garden show kicked off today at the Tacoma Dome and runs through Sunday. There are new things to see and do this year that you won’t want to miss including dozens of free seminars, and hundreds of exhibits – make sure to stop by the South Sound magazine booth for a chance to win a great gift basket and meet us!

- Famous DIY couple and authors of the Young House Love blog, John and Sherry Petersik, will host a special talk at 1 pm Friday. It will be followed by a Q&A session and book signing. The young couple started their blog to update friends and family about a kitchen remodel on their historic Virginia home. Soon, they had a following and now their DIY tricks, tips, and advice is full-time jobs. Their book is on the New York Times bestseller’s list and will be available at the show.
- The Vintage Market is back again featuring 17 local vendors selling everything from repurposed treasures for your garden to vintage aprons and cowboy gear. Shop with Purple Cow Antiques of Buckley, Port Orchard’s Cowpunchers, South Tacoma Antique Mall and more.
- The Plant Sale is presented by Bark & Garden Center of Olympia and will feature new varieties and old favorites for your garden. Reps will also be on hand to answer your questions. Also make sure to check out the various display gardens for more ideas.
- Local members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association will be answering questions, offering ideas and showing off the latest in kitchen and bath designs. Visiting chefs will be putting the real life kitchens to work! Check out the latest trends including labor-saving appliances, space-saving ideas and beautiful ideas that will inspire like a copper-topped island and a free-standing pedestal tub.
