Dick’s Drive-In Comes to the South Sound

Dick’s Drive-In today announced it will be opening a new location in the South Sound.

Earlier this month, the local burger chain turned to the public to ask where it should open its next location — east or south? More than 170,000 burger lovers cast their votes in Dick’s Drive-In’s online poll. Of the votes collected, more than 100,000 were for south.

The new Dick’s location will be the seventh to join the Dick’s Drive-In family of restaurants and will be completed by the end of next year. Dick’s Drive-In said possible locations include West Seattle, Kent, and Federal Way, to name a few.

Following the announcement, which was made on the company’s Facebook page, Dick’s Drive-In president Jim Spady said following completion of the South Sound location, Dick’s will open another location on the Eastside.

“To our friends in the east, we’re not forgetting about you,” Spady said on the company’s Facebook  page. “We’re going to build this restaurant in the south, and then we’ll build one in the east. So don’t give up. You have to wait a little while, but we’ll do it as quickly as we can so that everybody in the region can have access to the region’s best burgers, fries, and shakes.”
