Clam Digging at Westport

(And a Skateboarding Dog)

Razor clam digging was open at the ocean beaches for a five day stretch last week from Wednesday through Saturday.  In Westport the Friday morning dig was one to remember. There were very few people digging for clams, the tide was super low (so it was easy to get the 15 clam limit) and oh my, the sun was shining and it was warm.

Additional razor clam digs will likely be open in May. Check the Washington State Website for updates at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfish/razorclams/current.html Never dug or ate a razor clam before? Well, this website also shows you how to dig for clams, clean them, and prepare. Yummy.

And if the day couldn’t get any better, we met Zero, a really cute bulldog skateboarding on the sidewalk near the beach. Check this video I shot of Zero.
