Fans of Al Green, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, and other 1970s soul acts should dust off their platform shoes and squeeze into those tight-fitting bell-bottoms to prepare for a night of celebrating the most prolific acts from the golden age of soul.
Soul Revue – The 70s Edition will take the stage at Tacoma’s Pantages Theater, Mar 16 to lead the audience on a musical and visual trip back to a time when afros were in vogue and Fonzie was still saying his popular “Ayyyyy!” catch phrase.
The night will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with cocktail hour in the lobby — complete with a 1970s photo booth — and the main act begins at 7:30 p.m.
Hosted by Stevon Christopher Burrell (also known as NinjaKat), the evening will be filled with Tacoma singers and musicians including Tiffany Wilson, Lady A, Jimmy Shields, Sotaria, and Kim Archer celebrating the best the 70s had to offer. Behind the scenes, stage manager Ashley Jackson will keep the show going while bandleader Kareem Kandi will keep audiences moving and grooving in their seats.
Tickets range from $30 to $70, and can be purchased online or at the box office.
