South Sound Editor's Pick at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show
Posted @ Feb. 15 2012 02:45PM by Lauren - home-gardenThe Northwest Flower and Garden Show presented a remarkable variety of show gardens. But the displays that impressed us the most were the ones that portrayed powerful messages about how life, leisure and gardens come together in perfect harmony.
The South Sound magazine Editor's Pick was given to Dinner Bell Rings: Eat Your Yard. This space displayed a 99% edible garden where food and family can grow together. It was a beautiful example of an edible landscape that utilized recycled and affordable materials.
We chose this garden because we felt it had a strong message. Instead of being over the top this garden was humble and showed us just how simple sustainable living can be. Being environmentally conscious is important to our readers and to us. This garden put simple living and sustainability in harmony, which we felt cleverly, played on the show’s theme “A Floral Symphony.”
