An exhibition by Seattle photographer Eirik Johnson opened at Kittredge Gallery Jan. 16 on campus at the University of Puget Sound. Johnson’s work depicts the union (or disunion) of the natural and the manmade, exploring the interplay between nature and civilization. Work from two of Johnson’s recent oeuvres, Borderlands and Animal Holes, is included in the exhibition.
Johnson’s work is featured in collections at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Seattle Art Museum, Tacoma Art Museum and George Eastman House. He has had exhibitions in major cities including New York, Chicago and Cusco, Peru. He has published three anthologies of his work and received various awards and grants for his work.
The opening reception will be held on Jan. 25 from 5-7 p.m. Johnson will give a gallery talk during the run of the exhibition; information will be posted here. The gallery is open from 10-5 p.m. Monday – Friday and 12-5 p.m. Saturday.
