Residents, businesses and property owners are working with the City of Tacoma to prepare a Subarea Plan and Environmental Impact Statement to encourage development and economic revitalization in the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood on Tacoma’s Hilltop.

Over the next 12-18 months this project will establish a vision for future public and private investments in the MLK District and will integrate these investments with the needs of current residents, businesses and property owners.

The City of Tacoma is hosting a public scoping period to hear the community’s input on what should be the focus of this project.

The public scoping comment period will last from January 9, 2012 through February 10, 2012.
