The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is hosting the 2012 Annual Spring Plant Sale in Federal Way, where over two dozen nurseries from the South Sound will offer a wide variety of plants, ranging from rare and unusual specimens to old favorites. The RSBG sells rare rhododendron species as well as collectible perennials.
The sale will run Friday, April 20 from 3 – 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Members get early admission on Friday, and non-members will be able to purchase membership at the sale. The sale will take place in Weyerhauser’s large west parking lot, and the RSBG will offer free parking, a plant holding area and shopping carts. Attendees will gain free admission to the Garden and Rutherford Conservatory.
The RSBG is a non-profit organization belonging to the American Rhododendron Society. The Garden is considered to be one of the United States’ premier botanical gardens. Some of the funds raised at the plant sale will go toward rhododendron habitat conservation.
